About the Tunbridge Wells Cycling Festival

Our goal is to create and deliver a cycling festival that will encourage safe, inclusive, and enjoyable cycling for people of all ages in our local community.
Organised & hosted by Southborough & District Wheelers (SDW) who exist to promote cycling in the West Kent & East Sussex region and encourage community participation in the same area. SDW will also be celebrating their 90th anniversary in 2022 and have a 300+ local members that includes more than 50 youth & junior riders. As a British Cycling registered Go Ride Club, SDW promote best practice in safety, coaching and competition, equity and club management and currently have 7 British Cycling qualified coaches who always create a positive and inclusive environment.
Supported by: Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, Tunbridge Wells Bicycle Users Group (TWBUG), Wildside Cycles, Kent Velo Girls (KVG), Tunbridge Wells Tri Club, Loop Cycle & Social, Kent Police, The Velo Works, Dirty Dans and many other groups.
Date & location: Saturday 11th June 2022, Calverley Grounds, Tunbridge Wells. A central town location that offers space and facilities to support such an event.
Key festival activities will include:
• Exhibition stands from local cycling & activity groups. 

• Practical cycling safety demonstrations providing expert guidance for all the family
• Live coached cycling skills sessions from SDW British Cycling coaches for younger riders & families.
• Cycling themed activities including e-bike demos and a selection of different bike types for people to try.

• Static roller bike and online cycling demonstration and participation. 

• Supported family ride-out from Tunbridge Wells to Groombridge and back to promote road safety and awareness (activity 16 years+ only).
• Cycling stunt and skills demonstration from Savage Skills
• Other entertainment and refreshments
